Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out now and it offers a 25-hour-long main story, roughly about the same length as the original. While that might be enough content to last some players months, those who have a habit of doing entire playthroughs in one sitting will be looking forward to DLC and expansions for the second installment.
Marvel’s Spider-Man received three distinct story expansions, collectively titled The City That Never Sleeps, which were released over the course of three months following the game’s launch. The expansions were a critical hit just like the title, but does that mean Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have DLC as well?
Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Have DLC?
Insomniac Games has not announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC as of now. Having said that, there’s a strong chance you’ll start seeing expansions arrive sometime in 2024.
Because the title just launched, it’s too early to say for sure whether Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have expansions, but considering the first game did have multiple expansions, the second mainline installment should also get them in due time.
What type of story-related DLC Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gets remains to be seen. However, Insomniac has confirmed its plans to support the game with post-launch content. Primarily with designer Spidey suits for Peter and Miles. Furthermore, New Game Plus mode and Mission Replay will be added in a future update. As per their Marketing Director James Stevenson, Insomniac is targeting the end of the year to deliver these features.

There’s certainly room to expand Peter and Miles’ adventure in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with more narrative set pieces, but until we have official word, keep your fingers crossed. Insomniac also has a Wolverine game in development. And yes, it’s set within the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, albeit it’s not clawing its way onto PS5s soon. In the meantime, check out all of our Spider-Man 2 content here.
