Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the biggest blockbuster for PlayStation 5 owners this year, and Spidey’s newest adventure comes riddled with an iconic rogues gallery. Dozens of bizarre, venomous, and terrifying villains are present in the game, and today, we’ll be looking at all of them.

This list will mention every villain that appears in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so proceed with caution as there are minor spoilers up ahead!

Venom

Right off the bat, if the marketing wasn’t clear enough, yes, Venom is a major antagonist in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Insomniac’s take on Venom is brutal and way different from what we’re used to seeing in the live-action adaptations. Believe me, you’ll love all the twists and turns the studio has done with this character.

Kraven The Hunter

Kraven is the driving force behind the narrative in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. He’s arguably the primary and biggest villain in the game, and every appearance he makes will make you shiver in fear. His boss fight in particular is a highlight of the game and one you’ll enjoy quite thoroughly.

Yuri Watanabe from the original game also makes an appearance in Spider-Man 2. Though here, she’s more of an anti-villain. Her persona as Wraith is dark and her storyline with Peter is one of the best moments in the sequel.

Chameleon

Believe it or not, Kravin’s got a half-brother who’s a supervillain too. While we don’t fight Chameleon in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, his short cameo sets his character up pretty well for future installments.

Tombstone

Another character who’s back in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is Tombstone, but he’s actually a mechanic now and helps people instead. It’s hard to label him as a villain for this list, but you get the gist of it.

Lizard

Doctor Conners finally steps into the limelight as his infamous alter ego the Lizard in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Lizard’s sequences are high-octane, so when you see Conners transform, make sure your schedule is all freed up.

Sandman

Sandman will be the first supervillain you take on as Peter and Miles in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. His boss fight is a treat to do, and his plot thread is even more satisfying.

Scream

Venom’s not the only Symbiote in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, someone else also gets infected with the Symbiote besides Harry and Peter. The Scream encounter is the most surprising one in-game, and you’ll be shocked when you see who it is. Just be sure you’re ready for a tough boss fight.

Mysterio

Mysterio’s another recurring supervillain in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, though, like Tombstone, he’s reformed quite a bit. Mysterio has become an entrepreneur, using his illusionist powers for entertainment. As expected, things go wrong, and Miles is up to investigate whether Mysterio has settled down for real or if it’s just a facade for his elaborate scheme.

Mr. Negative

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Miles’ story arc is a major beat and Martin Li being in the game couldn’t make things any more interesting, seeing as he killed Miles’ father. Mr. Negative’s moments are full of tension, and ones you’ll appreciate plenty during your playthrough.

Other Noticeable Supervillain Cameos

Apart from the above-mentioned villain – or ex-villain – appearances, many other villains have minor set pieces. Black Cat, Prowler, Electro, Scorpion, and Vulture, all have a hand in the main plot thread, and each of them has changed a lot, so it’s amusing to see them. However, the most noticeable cameo in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be of Cletus Kasady, a villain introduced in Yuri’s The Flame side-story. Those who know about Cletus should get excited for a possible boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, while for those who aren’t familiar with him, we’ve got only one word, Carnage.
