Top 10 upcoming PC games of 2024

2024 PC Games

We’ve already had some great PC games this year, like Palworld, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and Tekken 8. Helldivers 2 even broke records as it overtook God Of War as Sony’s biggest launch on Steam. But 2024 has barely just begun. Here are the top 10 upcoming PC games of 2024. Hopefully, they live up to the hype.

This list won’t include games that are only speculated to come out this year. Only PC games that have clearly been stated to come out in 2024 will be included. So no games like Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero or Hollow Knight: Silksong, even though they are incredibly highly anticipated titles.

It also won’t include titles like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and the Silent Hill 2 remake that PlayStation seems to imply will come out this year. Those are still a little iffy until the developers themselves confirm it.

That still leaves us with tons of big names to choose from though, and here are the most promising among them.

Roguelike bullet hell games have been a relatively new craze these past couple of years. Games like Vampire Survivors, Hades, and HoloCure – Save the Fans! have become household names within the gaming community.

But what is the genre, including those three games, missing? If you thought of massive co-op features, then 33 Immortals is your game. This game allows you to play with up to 33 other players at the same time! Jjust imagine how jam-packed your screen will be when 33 other characters are trying to fight and dodge masses of projectiles with you.

9. ARK 2

Release Date: Late 2024 (No specific date yet)

Genre: Open World, Survival

Developer: Studio Wildcard, Grove Street Games

Publisher: Studio Wildcard

ARK: Survival Ascended had a rocky start and less-than-admirable reception. For better or for worse, Studio Wildcard is now making ARK 2. Hopefully, they can capture the charm of old ARK: Survival Evolved, which has also been riddled with controversy in the past few months.

Regardless of its shaky past, the Ark community is still very much active, and the trailers for ARK 2 do show some promise. So maybe, just maybe, they could bring back the sense of adventure and community that made the old ARK experience so loved by many.

8. Homeworld 3

Release Date: May 14, 2024

Genre: Real-Time Strategy

Developer: Blackbird Interactive

Publisher: Gearbox Publishing

Real-Time Strategy (RTS) PC games haven’t been this big in years, but 2024 might just change that.

A return from one of the most classic and unique RTS game franchises, Homeworld 3 will take you on a journey filled with massive strategic space battles. What makes it so special is unlike other RTS games, Homeworld has an incredible amount of verticality to it. You’re in space, so your units don’t just move North, South, East, and West; they can move up and down as well. Literally adding a whole new dimension of strategy to the genre.

There are signs that Stormgate might come out this year too. So, RTS fans rejoice!

7. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

If you’re a fan of the Dishonored franchise, you’ll probably love Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodline 2. Stalk the streets of Seattle at night as an elder vampire. Sucking people’s blood will strengthen you and grant you special powers. Beware though, because you’re not the only monster roaming the streets in the dark.

Will you play stealthily and lure unsuspecting victims into dark alleys? Or are you going to use your powers for straight-up combat? The game has vampire clans that you can choose from, which will alter your playstyle, allowing for tons of replayability.

Release Date: March 5, 2024

Genre: Survival Horror, Co-op

Developer: Red Barrels

Publisher: Red Barrels

Since its early access came out on May 18, 2023, The Outlast Trials has been pretty well-received. Thankfully, you don’t have to wait long for the full release.

The main thing that differentiates The Outlast Trials from previous titles in the genre is that it’s now a co-op. The dark story, monstrous enemies, and sinister, gory locations are all still there, but now you can experience it with a friend! It’s okay if co-op isn’t your cup of tea too, because you can also play the game solo.

5. Little Nightmares 3

From one co-op horror game to another, now we move on to Little Nightmares 3. Just like The Outlast Trials, you can now experience Little Nightmares 3 with a friend. If you choose to go it alone, your companion will instead be controlled by AI.

You play as either Low or Alone, two friends with unique abilities to help you solve puzzles. You must venture through The Spiral, a dystopia filled with all sorts of challenges, from distorted creatures to dark eerie settings.

4. Avowed

Release Date: 2024 (No specific date yet)

Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, RPG

Developer: Obsidian Entertainment

Publisher: Xbox Game Studios

Baldur’s Gate 3 and the ever-strong community of Elder Scrolls fans all signify that the demand for Fantasy RPGs in PC games is as strong as ever. For those still wanting to scratch that itch, Avowed can hopefully help out.

From what they’ve shown in the trailers, Avowed seems like an incredible fantasy RPG heavily inspired by Skyrim. While Elder Scrolls VI is still probably years away, you can help yourself to Avowed. And the way Bethesda’s been handling their massive open-worlds lately, Avowed might just be better.

3. Dragon’s Dogma 2

Release Date: March 22, 2024

Genre: Open-World, Action, RPG

Developer: Capcom

Publisher: Capcom

Ever wonder what a single-player, open-world Monster Hunter game would look like? Surprisingly, Dragon’s Dogma makes it look really good.

Play as the Arisen, a hero blessed, or perhaps cursed, with special powers from a dragon. With the added bonus of having to fight the dragon and possibly die. Yeah.

Go on perilous quests and hunt down massive monsters with your Pawns. These are AI-controlled companions, which Capcom has boasted would feel like playing with actual players. Big if true, so hopefully it’s true.

2. Black Myth: Wukong

Release Date: August 20, 2024

Genre: Soulslike, Action, RPG

Developer: Game Science

Publisher: Game Science

Last year, Lies Of P proved that companies outside of FromSoftware can now make soulslike games on par with the Dark Souls creators. This year, Game Science will be trying its hand in the genre.

Black Myth Wukong looks like an extremely promising soulslike game based on the classic tale of Journey To The West. You play as the Monkey King himself in his younger days, on his journey to godhood. Be ready to face larger-than-life beasts from Chinese mythology using different fighting styles and spells.

1. Hades II

Hades II

Release Date: Q2 2024

Genre: Roguelike, Action, Hack and Slash

Developer: Supergiant Games

Publisher: Supergiant Games

With everything the first Hades brought to the table, Hades II is definitely one of the biggest PC games to look out for in 2024.

With Hades II, you will no longer play as Zagreus, Hades’ son. Instead, you play as Melinoë, princess of the Underworld and Zagreus’ little sister. You won’t be trying to escape the Underworld like Zagreus though. Melinoë’s mission is to take down Chronos, the Titan of Time, who has captured Hades and is waging war against Olympus.

Gameplay-wise, Hades II is still a roguelike dungeon crawler. Wreck through hordes of enemies with weapons and magic, while taking in the mesmerizing locations based on Greek mythology. The game promises to have better upgrade mechanics and an overall larger scope than its predecessor, so get ready for a truly mythical experience.
